Coordinations posturales et rééducation de l'hémiplégie
In this project, we study the multi-segmental postural system in hemiplegic population with concepts and tools from the pattern dynamics approach. Ankle-hip coordination modes in antero-posterior axis are investigated. The production of the two preferred postural patterns involved in healthy stance (i.e., in-phase and anti-phase patterns) are tested. We hypothesize that the less stable pattern disappears due to the pathology. We have our participants (hemiplegic patients vs. healthy subjects) to produce two postural coordination patterns (0° and 180° patterns) with the help of a VIRTUAL POSTURE, a customized real time visual biofeedback. Our first results show that the hemiplegic group does not exhibit the in-phase pattern when it is required; they produce a pattern close to 180°. Moreover, when the anti-phase pattern is imposed, a diminution of coherence is observed for the hemiplegic group in comparison with the healthy group. Important modifications of postural system dynamics is thus observed in patients, a result that has consequences for rehabilitation principles.
